There are many beautiful and old buildings within the village, and almost all of them have been captured on postcards and photographs at one time or another. In fact, according to Historic England, Bassingham is home to no fewer than TWELVE Grade II listed buildings, and these are:
- Church House (old Rector’s house)
- Church of St Michael and All Angels
- Corner Cottage and Outbuilding (“Mrs Brocklebank’s Cottage”)
- Green’s Stores
- House attached to north of Green’s Stores (“The Tall House”)
- Ivy House
- K6 Telephone Kiosk (opposite Green’s)
- Manor Farmhouse (Whites Lane)
- Hallfield Manor (Water Lane)
- Old Manor House and Outbuilding (Newark Road)
- The Grange (High Street)
- Wesleyan Methodist Chapel and Sunday Schoolroom
I have taken the time to look into the history of a few places around the village; clicking each of the links below will lead you to what I have discovered.
